The North Clark Historical Museum will be the site of a 110 + 1 anniversary celebration of the United Brethren Church building on September 25, 2021 with an open house from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be tours, exhibits, a short program at 2 p.m., outdoor activities (weather permitting), and pie and ice cream. Masks will be compulsory inside the building.

The church was built in 1910 by Emanuel Jensen, a carpenter from View, Washington. Pastor Dora Young walked from View to Amboy to start a Sunday school and decided the town needed a church. She contacted Emanuel and the rest is history. After being renovated to become the current museum, the United Brethren Church building was listed on the Clark County Heritage Register in 1996, the Washington Heritage Register of Historic Places on October 17, 2008, and the National Register of historic sites on December 17th. 4, 2008.

Quilt Raffle tickets will be available for “Prairie Sampler”, a beautiful quilt made by the Chelatchie Quilters. This is our annual fundraiser for the benefit of the Museum. A reprint of the UB Ladies Aide Mid-Century Cookbook will also be available for purchase. Recipes come from local residents and include several poems written by Anna Rosencrans.

The Museum will be open on Saturday September 11 from noon to 4 p.m. and Saturday September 25 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The address is 21416 NE 399^e St., Amboy, WA. The museum is wheelchair accessible and has air conditioning. Free entry. Donations are welcome.
