Join us at the Museum on Sunday, June 5 at 1301 Hudson for a full day of LGBTQIA+ programming. From noon to 6 p.m., we celebrate the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Trans Queer Intersex and Asexual community (and communities!) with 3 special events that are a co-production of the Museum with the Thomas Edison Film Festival and the Hudson Pride Center, with our thanks to Hoboken Trade Alliance. Admission is free and donations are greatly appreciated.
It begins with a “Meet and Greet” in the transition from noon to 5. Local organizations and vendors will be set up to share information and talk about their presence in the community. Here you will find: Hudson Pride Center, The Hoboken Library and Hoboken Rainbow Family. You’ll also find Rolando Nieves and Nicole Pometti, the queer and Latinx filmmakers who host the “Remakes, Reboots ad Revivals” podcast that explores Hollywood’s obsession with “unoriginality,” among many others.
From 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., step into the Museum for an old-fashioned “mixer.” Enjoy wine and cheese while you see old friends and make new ones.
From 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., the Thomas Edison Film Festival will present a special selection of Queer Cinema with a Q&A with filmmaker David De la Fuente and festival director Jane Steuerwald.
Plus, enjoy live PRIDE-themed episodes “Hoboken Talks” online every Thursday at 7 June on our YouTube channel, “hoboken museum”.
