The Volunteer Open House at the Benzie Area Historical Museum has been postponed due to the quarantine of museum staff.

BENZONIA – The Volunteer Open House event at the Benzie Area Historical Museum has been postponed due to the quarantine of museum staff due to COVID-19.

The event is now scheduled for 1 p.m. on June 2 at the museum, located at 6941 Traverse Ave., in Benzonia.

Community members interested in volunteering are invited to the open house.

The historical society is looking for docents, as well as people with diverse interests and talents such as photography, genealogy, writing, oral history interviewing and editing, design, teaching, wood or d other handicrafts.

Volunteers are also sought for archival projects, mailings, event registration and coordination. Training is provided for all volunteer positions.
