Opening of the Mecosta County Historical Museum in Big Rapids for the 2022 season

MECOSTA COUNTY – The Mecosta County Historical Museum is open for the season with new and updated exhibits.
Located at 129 S. Stewart Ave., Big Rapids, the museum houses several local historical collections, including a general store and Anna Howard Shaw’s memorabilia collection, as well as newly arrived collections of antique furniture and Madame Alexander dolls. In the former home of local logger Fitch Phelps, the museum opened in 1966 and features exhibits that highlight Mecosta County and the area’s lumber industry history.
Hours of operation are 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday and the first Sunday of each month. Private tours are available by calling 231-592-5091 or messaging the Facebook page.
